Development and Validation of the Psychological Aura Scale

Abstract

This study was conducted to development of Psychological Aura Scale which constructed on 10 items self-report scale its aim to assess perception incidence that come before coincides with changes in cognation, feeling ailment or corporeal observation. The scale was made to assess personal practices often stated to as animated or instinctive feelings. Psychometric evaluation was conducted using SPSS Version 21. Internal consistency was acceptable, with Cronbach’s alpha (α) = .74. Inter-item correlations were generally positive, with one item demonstrating a negative correlation (r = −.23). Split-half reliability indicated moderate internal consistency (r = .69). Discriminant validity was supported by low and non-significant correlations between the aura total score and related psychological constructs (holistic thinking, affective responses, intuition) (r = − .073 to .046, ns). The overall correlation between the Psychological Aura Scale and other measures suggests moderate associations with dimensions of holistic thinking (r = .214 to .600) and intuition (r = .778), while remaining distinct from affective or inferential dimensions. Construct validity was supported with a coefficient of r = .718. These results suggest the scale is a psychometrically sound tool with potential application in both clinical and general populations.
