Online gaming has become an integral part of adolescent life, raising questions about its potential psychological effects. This longitudinal study investigates the long-term impact of online gaming on adolescents' mental well-being, examining both positive and negative influences across a one-year period. Utilizing a diverse sample of 500 adolescents aged 13-18, the study employs self-report measures of online gaming engagement, mental health symptoms (depression, anxiety, stress), academic performance, and social interaction. Data analysis employs mixed-effects models to account for individual variability and examine changes over time. The study findings contribute to a nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between online gaming and adolescent mental health, with implications for parents, educators, and policymakers.
